An Orientation Meeting Was Held with First-Year Sociology Students
The Department of Sociology held an orientation meeting for the first-year students who have newly joined us. At the event, which took place on Friday, September 25, in Classroom J342, the aim was to ensure that the new students quickly adapt to the university and the academic process. The meeting began with the opening speech of our Department Chair, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Aydın. Afterwards, with the presentation of Research Assistant Şevval Nisa Uğur, one of the faculty members of our department, the students were first informed about the academic staff of the department, academic advising services, and the undergraduate curriculum. In addition, the topics of examinations and the assessment system, regulations, student clubs, and Double Major, Minor, and Erasmus Programs were also addressed. The event, which continued with a question-and-answer session, concluded with answering the questions of the first-year students and their meeting with the faculty members of the department.
