In the first seven months of 2023, 1.8 million foreign visitors came to Muğla with an increase of 18.5 percent compared to the previous year. According to the data compiled by Tourism DataBank from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the highest number of visitors came from the UK with 774 thousand, while 120 thousand visitors came from Poland and 100 thousand from Germany. While the decline in the German and Dutch markets was noteworthy in this period, the declines were 11 percent on average compared to 2022. On the other hand, the Russian and Polish markets grew by 40 percent on average. The UK market grew by 13 percent. There were high growth rates in the US, Iran and Ukraine markets.
