Within the scope of the "Best Tourism Villages" program launched by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in May 2021, tourism villages that adopt innovative approaches in rural tourism and compatible with sustainable development goals have been identified around the world.
At the 24th general assembly of the organization held in Madrid, the capital of Spain, as a result of the evaluation of 175 applications from 75 countries, 44 villages from 32 countries were selected as the best tourism village. Mustafapaşa village in Ürgüp district of Nevşehir and Taraklı district of Sakarya were among the selected ones from our country.
