Department of Turkish Language and Literature accepts students according to VERBAL score type.
 

The language of instruction of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature is Turkish. However, there is an optional English preparatory class for students who want it.
 

Graduates of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature have the opportunity to work with many different titles in public and private institutions. Teaching in public and private sector schools (primarily high schools), teaching in private teaching institutions and private courses such as TÖMER that teach Turkish to foreigners, teaching Ottoman Turkish, diction, and alike in İSMEK courses affiliated with municipalities. At the end of the process, which starts with teaching courses, postgraduate education, they can work as academics, as journal and newspaper managers and editors in media organizations, and they can also work in areas such as Human Resources and Public Relations.
 

No, there is no compulsory internship in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature.
 

Our students in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature can choose and take the optional "Teaching Pedagogical Formation Training Courses" offered at our university starting from the 3rd year of their undergraduate education and have the chance to graduate by completing this training. Our students, who are optionally included in this education process, can personally experience the teaching profession by doing internships in secondary education institutions within the scope of the Teaching Practice course.
 

Yes, there is a Thesis/Non-Thesis Master's Program in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature within IGU.
