Message from Chair of Department
Dear Students and Student Candidates,
All of you are welcome to our university.
Our department aims to raise students who know the phases and current issues of the Turkish language and literature, and who are familiar with language ecology and sociology of literature. It carries out an innovative and interdisciplinary curriculum that introduces students to contemporary approaches in language and literature, as well as new study areas.
We bring our students together with the important institutions, organizations and names of our field through joint projects we carry out with our internal and external stakeholders and activities we organize through our student clubs. Thus, we offer our students the opportunity to develop their creativity and social skills, and exceed team spirit.
During the undergraduate studies, our students are also offered the opportunity to benefit from the education of universities abroad through the "double major program" and "student exchange programs". In addition, our students have the opportunity to develop themselves in different fields through various certificate programs at our university. They can learn new languages thanks to foreign language lessons in electives.
Our students can be a teacher of Turkish to foreigners in Turkey and abroad by completing the required training. They can work in public and private sectors such as copywriters and editors. Our double major students have the opportunity to evaluate the business options of two different departments.
We believe that each of our graduates will serve the society as a qualified who knows his own culture, equipped, sociable, realising, remedial, competitive, strong in communication, open to life-long learning, and solution-focused.
