Department of Turkish Language and Literature, which is among the 4-year undergraduate programs of Istanbul Gelişim University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences; It adopts an innovative teaching approach that complies with internationalization standards. The Department of Turkish Language and Literature aims to provide its students with competence in fields such as the history of the Turkish language, Turkish and world literature, and sociology of literature, and to ensure that its students have deeply internalized the national language and culture, have strong communication and social skills, are able to understand the time and atmosphere in which they live, and are especially culturally related to societies with which we have cultural kinship. It aims to graduate students as individuals who have the knowledge and skills to be stakeholders in studies related to all societies.

Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) carried out promotional shootings with the participation of students and academicians with the theme of "Explaining the Development Journey". These recordings, in which academicians and students personally describe Istanbul Gelişim University and especially their own departments, were published on the YouTube page called "Aday IGU".
