Abdulrazak Gurnah Wins 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature
The 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature has been found. The Swedish Academy announced that the award was given to the Zanzibar-based novelist Abdulrazak Gurnah.
The winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature has been announced. Novelist Abdulrazak Gurnah has been awarded the 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature by Swedish academic members. In the statement made by the Nobel Committee, it was stated that the award was given to Gurnah "for his uncompromising and compassionate handling of the effects of colonialism on the gap between cultures and continents and the fate of refugees".
The author's novels Gravel Heart, Admiring Silence, By the Sea, The Last Gift and Desertion were translated into Turkish and published by İletişim Publishing House.
