Applications Started for the First Oğuz Atay Story Award
Applications have started for the "Oğuz Atay Story Award," which will be held for the first time this year and organized by the İnebolu Culture and Art Association.
Oğuz Atay, one of the essential novel and story writers of Turkish literature, was born on October 12, 1934, in İnebolu district of Kastamonu. İnebolu Culture and Art Association is organizing a story contest in memory of Oğuz Atay. The deadline for submission of the free-themed story contest, which will be held for the first time this year, has been set as June 30, 2021. The results of the competition will be announced on October 1, 2021. The award ceremony will take place on October 12, 2021, the master writer Oğuz Atay's birthday. Those who want to participate in the contest will be able to participate by sending their stories to inebolukulturvesanatdernegi@gmail.com.
The conditions for participation in the competition were planned by the Inebolu Culture and Art Association as follows:
1. Participation is open to everyone. There is no subject limitation.
2. Only story submissions are accepted. Applications made in genres such as novels, essays, poems, etc., will not be considered.
3. Participation will be through a story. A person cannot apply with more than one story.
4. There is no page and word limitation in the stories.
5. Stories previously published in any printed or online medium and/or awarded will not be considered.
6. Stories must be saved in a writing program document and sent to the e-mail address.
7. Applications made by mail, cargo, or by hand will not be accepted.
8. Stories participating in the Oğuz Atay Story Award are presented to the selection committee with anonymous author identities.
9. In another file bearing the story's name and the story file, the authors should indicate their identity, nickname and contact information, and a short biography.
10. The legal and scientific responsibility of the stories sent to the competition belongs to the author.
The winning stories and the stories deemed worthy of publication by the jury will be published as a memoir book with the winner's story's name. Stories outside of this book can not be used anywhere else.
