Asst. Prof. Pelin Ekşi briefly introduced the history of the Language Day in her speech and then talked about the historical development of the Turkish language and the effects of intercultural relations on the Turkish language.
Then, Ekşi mentioned the prominent names who glorified the Turkish language with their works, emphasized the importance of the efforts made for this purpose, and maintained the language-culture-nation relationship. Finally, Ekşi ended her speech with the following words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk:
“The Turkish nation sees that its morals, traditions, memories, interests, in short, everything that makes its nationality today, are preserved thanks to its language in the endless disasters it has gone through. The Turkish language is the heart and mind of the Turkish nation."
