Mehmet Âkif Ersoy, a lover of freedom and the author of the Independence March, the symbol of the Turkish nation's struggle for independence, was commemorated with various events throughout the country as part of the "December 20-27 Mehmet Akif Ersoy Memorial Week". Hacer Gülşen, Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at IGU, made a presentation about our Poet of Independence, Mehmet Âkif Ersoy, to the department students after the TDE219 New Turkish Literature I course, which she was the director of. At the event held on 30.12.2022 in the hall no. J-Block 342, Hacer Gülşen talked about Mehmet Akif Ersoy's life devoted to freedom, his struggle for Turkish independence, the poet's literary side and the world of art.
