Istanbul Gelisim University hosted the "Sustainability in Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language in the 21st Century" workshop, consisting of 7 subcommittees, on 16.06.2022. The event, which took place with the participation of expert lecturers from different cities and universities, was extremely productive. All lecturers of the IGU Turkish Language and Literature Department took part in the workshop as commission managers.
In the first session of the workshop, subjects related to teaching Turkish as a foreign language in Turkey and in the world, national and international scientific studies in this field, problems encountered and solution suggestions, measurement and evaluation, use of technology, teaching materials and teaching basic language skills were discussed. In the second session, project ideas for inter-university cooperation were shared. The workshop ended after the commission reports were completed.
