An online event titled "Poetry from Mythos to Neurons" was organized by the Language, Thought, and Literature Club, operating under the umbrella of the Turkish Language and Literature Department of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU). The guest of the talk was the famous poet and writer Altay Öktem. The event was held online on the Google Meet platform between 20:30 and 22:30 on Friday, April 14, 2023. At the event, Altay Öktem made a presentation on the basic question of why people who think with similar words cannot create similar artistic word combinations, that is, why not everyone can write poetry. In his presentation, the famous poet discussed in detail the myths, which he described as the substance of poetry, and the neurological processes at the point of creating poetry based on myths. Öktem, who also gave various advice to young people who are eager to write poetry, shared his poetic journey with the participants. The event, which attracted great interest, ended after the questions from the participants were answered.
