Removing Barriers with “Voice to Books”

The content of Türk Telekom's Telephone Library, which provides audio content service on the phone for visually impaired individuals, has been enriched with the "Voice to Books" application.

With the mobile application called “Voice to Books”, launched in cooperation with Türk Telekom and Boğaziçi University GETEM (Technology and Education Laboratory for the Visually Impaired), visually impaired book lovers are given the opportunity to access many types of books such as story, novel, history, psychology and personal development.

Volunteer support for the “Voice to Books” application is also increasing. With the application, more than 40 thousand volunteers became the voice of books for visually impaired individuals. It was announced that the volunteers sang 755 thousand pages of books in 43 thousand 500 hours in total. Anyone who wants to help visually impaired individuals access books can contribute to this sensitive project by downloading the “Voice to Books” application free of charge to their phones and playing books.
