The International Izmir Literature Festival, organized for the fifth time by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, has started. This year's theme of the festival, which was held between 31 October – 7 November, is “Mediterranean” and its slogan is “Literature is love.” The International Izmir Literature Festival started with a ceremony held at the Mustafa Necati Cultural Center. Ezginin Günlüğü took the stage at the opening ceremony attended by top officials, bureaucrats, writers, artists and art lovers from the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
Nedim Gürsel and Ahmet Ümit will attend the International İzmir Literature Festival, which brings together important poets and writers of Turkish literature with literature lovers, as guests of honor this year. The festival, which hosts many writers and poets from abroad every year, will also feature literary figures from Germany, Morocco, France, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Greece this year. In addition to Ercan Kesal, Latife Tekin and Sunay Akın, the festival will host interviews and events with important writers and poets. The Fairy Tale Chair and Short Story Chair will be set up at different points of the city, giving the opportunity to those who want to share their tales and stories with literature lovers. The festival will end with the Fide Köksal concert at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center on Sunday, November 7 at 21:00.
