 Turkey's First Word Museum Opened to Visit


Turkey's first word museum was opened in Ankara. The museum aims to show concretely the richness of Turkish in terms of vocabulary.


Founded by Şermin Yaşar, a graduate of Isparta Süleyman Demirel University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature, the "Word Museum" was opened to visitors in Ankara. In the museum, which aims to embody the richness of the Turkish language, colorful works by different artists were exhibited. In the Word Museum, visitors have the opportunity to experience the richness of Turkish in terms of vocabulary through various exhibitions where words come together with visual designs. In the museum, where the works of many artists such as paintings, installations and ceramics are exhibited, the meanings of various proverbs from the past of words, objects that are out of circulation but continue to live in the language, interactive word walls, items used in the past, works inspired by the works of famous men of letters, and many more. The museum also includes a three-dimensional digital sculpture made from photographs of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk by an Iranian artist. The Word Museum can be visited between 10:00 and 17:00 except Mondays.
