The Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences (FEASS) of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) has added another initiative to its collaborations aimed at supporting students’ professional development. In this context, a Psychology Internship Protocol was signed between Avcılar Municipality and the IGU FEASS Department of Psychology.
The protocol aims to provide Psychology students with the opportunity to reinforce the theoretical knowledge and academic competencies they acquire throughout their undergraduate education through practical experience. During their internships, students will have the opportunity to become familiar with professional working environments, observe field practices, and gain experience regarding various cases and processes.
Recognizing the importance of supporting psychology education with practical experience, this collaboration will also enable students to explore different areas of professional practice and enhance their professional awareness. Internships to be carried out within Avcılar Municipality are expected to offer students valuable experience by allowing them to observe psychology- and social support-oriented services provided by public institutions firsthand.
Istanbul Gelisim University continues to expand its collaborations with public institutions, local governments, and sector representatives in order to complement students’ academic knowledge with professional experience. The Psychology Internship Protocol signed with Avcılar Municipality stands out as another important step toward increasing practical training opportunities for students.
