Within the scope of the workshop, participants gained in-depth knowledge of the fundamental techniques of news photography and had the opportunity to enhance their skills in transforming current events into visual narratives through hands-on practice. The workshop focused on key elements such as the news value of photographs, capturing the decisive moment, and creating effective compositions.

Another major component of the workshop was photo reportage practices. Through these applications, participants experienced visual storytelling and learned creative photography production techniques by working with real-world examples from the field. The narrative power of photo reportage, visual continuity, and storytelling flow were addressed through practical exercises.

During the workshop, students’ photo reportage projects prepared as part of their coursework were reviewed. These works were evaluated in terms of visual storytelling, framing, narrative coherence, and the journalistic and reportage value of the photographs. The workshop contributed significantly to strengthening students’ knowledge and practical experience in photo-based journalism.
