The Number of Records in the IGU Institutional Open Access Archive Has Exceeded 8300!
Istanbul Gelisim University Institutional Open Access Archive (DSpace@Gelisim) continues its rise in the Turkish Academic Archive “Harman” system prepared by TUBITAK. As of October 2024, DSpace@Gelisim, which rose to 63rd place among Turkish institutional open access archives, has also exceeded 8,300 in terms of the number of materials.
Founded in 2018, DSpace@Gelisim has become Türkiye's seventh institutional open access archive as of its establishment date and continues to grow richer day by day. Entering the TUBITAK Türkiye Academic Archive "Harman" system in the top 100 at the end of 2018, IGU Institutional Open Access Archive rose six places and ranked 63rd as of October 2024.
Any document, publication, report, presentation, audio recording and video produced by IGU academic-administrative units and students that have passed academic and administrative inspection can be uploaded to the IGU Institutional Open Access Archive. The information received from the Library and Documentation Department states that articles are recorded in the archive after being checked by international publishing policy systems such as SHERPA/ROMEO. It is also stated that Open Access Archives increase the visibility and citations of institutions/authors, and also contribute to universities in webometric rankings.
