Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Head of Advertising Department Assoc. Prof. Hüseyin Dikme and Deputy Head of Advertising Department Asst. Prof. İpek Sucu published joint article in the Social Sciences Research Journal.


Dikme and Sucu in their article titled “Social Media Management as the Key to Effective Communication in Health Institutions” argued that social media management is one of the most important elements in establishing effective communication in health institutions. In addition, they included the following explanations in their articles; “It is important to establish effective communication in terms of increasing the quality of service in the communication of employees with their patients, as well as with healthcare professionals. The communication processes carried out in order to deliver the communication provided in face-to-face communication to wider masses are also continued on the social media platforms of digital communication, which has increased rapidly with the effect of the pandemic process.

In this direction, social media management is important in health studies for large masses in health institutions, the service quality of the health institution, the services provided, and the establishment of a fast and effective communication with the patients. As in many sectors, it is noteworthy that social media management is maintained effectively due to the fact that health studies are at the forefront and people follow health studies closely. In this study, the importance of social media management in providing effective communication in health institutions has been examined within the framework of literature review.

The aim of this study is to present the contribution of people's communication in health institutions digitally through social media, as health institutions have gained more importance with the effect of the pandemic process in recent years. In this context, it has been concluded in the study that social media management brings an effective communication in the formation of a quality service quality in health institutions.”
