Filmekimi, the film festival that moviegoers eagerly await every October, is held between 13-22 October this year. Screenings in Istanbul are held at Atlas 1948, Kadıköy Sineması, Sinematek and Cinewam City's cinemas. This year, İKSV continues to attract great interest from moviegoers with its beautiful selection of national and foreign films.
While the national selection of the festival includes films such as Aslı Özge's Black Box and Zeki Demirkubuz's Hayat, many foreign films from all over the world are also offered to moviegoers. Among the most notable foreign productions at the festival are Hayao Miyazaki's The Child and the Heron, Aki Krausmaki's Yellowed Leaves, Hirokazu Kore-eda's Monster, Ryusuke Hamaguchi's No Such Thing as Evil, Pedro Almodovar's Strange Way of Life, Films such as Yorgos Lantimos' The Poor Ones, Sofia Coppola's Priscilla, and Wim Wenders' Perfect Days come to the fore.
Filmekimi, which includes quality productions this year as in previous years, offers alternatives where everyone who loves cinema can participate and enjoy the cinema by choosing at least 2-3 films according to their taste. It is necessary to be a little hasty in purchasing tickets in order not to miss the enjoyable films at the festival, where the movie theaters are completely full.
