Sir Geoff Hurst, one of the stars of the 1966 FIFA World Cup, the only World Cup in England's history, lost most of his friends on the football team to dementia or Alzheimer's disease. In order to raise awareness about Alzheimer's, Geoff Hurst's World Cup memories were digitally archived in NFT format by using today's technological possibilities. Alzheimer's Research UK & Alzheimer's Society and advertising agency Above+Beyond implemented the project called “Eternal Memory”.
So what is this NFT?
NFT, whose full name is “non-fungible token” in English, has been translated into Turkish as “Nitelikli Fikri Tapu”. NFT is defined as “a unit of data stored in a digital ledger, called a blockchain, that confirms that a digital asset is unique and therefore not interchangeable.”
