Latest Campaigns of Brands in the Context of Green Advertising
Today, one of the most popular topics in the marketing world is sustainability communication and, in this context, green advertising. The fact that brands come out with a new green advertisement every day also shows that the popularity of the subject will continue.
Among the recent campaigns of brands in the context of sustainability communication and green advertising, the following stand out:
The Revival's Campaign
The Revival is a community-centered sustainable design non-governmental organization committed to creating solutions to textile waste problems on a global scale. This Ghana-based organization harmoniously integrates education, awareness, art and employment into its activities. The Revival aims to promote economic, social and environmental sustainability through community-focused design, upcycling and textile waste initiatives. Thanks to innovative upcycling and recycling projects, more than 1 million clothes are prevented from ending up in landfills and oceans, while air pollution caused by the burning of textile waste is also reduced. The Revival raises awareness by reaching approximately 2,000 people worldwide through free online courses and lectures. In the future, a vision is aimed where 20 million garments considered as waste are reused instead of being disposed of, an upcycling center is established in Africa, and overproduction is prevented through legislative regulations.
The Bolt's Campaign
Bolt, which offers services such as taxi, scooter, bicycle and car rental on a single platform, acts with the understanding of "We should not leave cities to the domination of individual vehicles" and introduces street furniture produced from scrapped automobile parts. This seating group, called Living Vroom, gives a strong message. Designed entirely with waste materials collected from vehicle scrapyards in Sweden and Norway, Living Vroom is both an upcycling project and a sustainability-focused initiative that reveals how large the amount of scrap vehicles is even in these countries with high levels of prosperity. This furniture collection, created by holistically combining parts such as seat leathers, consoles and exploded airbags taken from vehicles left to rot in Sweden and Norway - most of them new - bears the signature of Sweden-based Interesting Times Gang design studio.
The seating group, consisting of a lounge chair, a pouffe, a bench and two solar-powered lamps, was produced by reshaping polyester and glass fiber materials, largely obtained from exploded airbags, with 3D printers. The design was finalized by being colored with Bolt's striking corporate green.
The FREITAG's Campaign
For those looking for recyclable materials that deserve a second life, road traffic is a source of raw materials. The newest examples of this are presented in two new models that have joined the FREITAG bag collection. Both bags are made from old airbags that were once used in automobiles but have remained idle without incident. Seat belts, which have gained flexibility with long-term use on European roads, have also come to life again on the handles of the bags. Thus, airbags and straps serve a new purpose as lightweight yet durable bags.
