“Workshop on Basic Drawing to Logo Design” Held at Istanbul Gelişim University
Organized by the Department of Advertising at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences at Istanbul Gelişim University, the “Workshop on Logo Design from Basic Drawing” was held on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in Room 313. Visual storyteller Esin Gülsevil served as the workshop instructor, and Yelda Ülker moderated the session.
In the first part of the workshop, students learned basic drawing techniques. Participants gained hands-on experience with topics such as line, form, proportion, and composition, discovering the importance of thinking on paper in the design process. In the second part, these fundamental skills were applied to logo design. Esin Gülsevil explained step by step how an idea transforms from a simple sketch into a memorable visual identity. The students also had the opportunity to immediately put what they learned into practice by creating their own logo drafts.
Held in a fun and friendly atmosphere, the workshop was met with great enthusiasm from the students. Participants noted that they not only had fun but also began to view creative processes from a different perspective. The event made a significant contribution to helping advertising students develop their skills in brand identity and visual communication.
The Advertising Department aims to continue hosting these types of hands-on events that support students’ creativity and prepare them for the industry.
