Our Faculty Member Presented a Paper at an International Congress
Asst. Prof. Derya Çelik, a faculty member of the Department of International Trade and Business at the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Istanbul Gelişim University, presented the paper titled "The Strategic Role of Hybrid Expertise Competency on Competitive Advantage in the Era of Digital Transformation: A Conceptual Evaluation", co-authored with Dr. Ömer Samet Kazdal, at the 15th International Social Sciences Congress (Aegean Summit) held in İzmir, Türkiye, on 12–14 June 2026.
The study emphasizes that in the era of digital transformation, sustainable competitive advantage depends not only on technological investments but also on human capital equipped with hybrid expertise competencies. The paper conceptually examines hybrid expertise competency through the perspectives of the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Dynamic Capabilities Theory, highlighting the strategic value of integrating technical knowledge, digital skills, analytical thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and social-emotional competencies.
The research concludes that hybrid expertise competency strengthens organizational agility, innovation, knowledge sharing, and sustainable competitive advantage while providing a theoretical foundation for future empirical studies in the field.
We congratulate Asst. Prof. Derya Çelik on this academic achievement.
