Information Package – General Framework:
The Department of International Trade and Finance (Turkish) contributes to the micro-credential program by addressing the impacts of digitalization on global trade, finance, economic growth, and labor mobility within an interdisciplinary framework. The program aims to develop students’ technological literacy, analytical and systems thinking skills, ethical awareness, and ability to evaluate the societal implications of digital transformation.
Information Package – Content and Structure:
The “Digitalization and Society” micro-credential offered by the Department of International Trade and Finance (Turkish) provides a comprehensive examination of the impacts of digital transformation on the global economy. Students acquire up-to-date knowledge and practical skills in digital growth, migration and labor markets, artificial intelligence–enabled international trade, and Fintech. The program aims to equip graduates with the ability to evaluate technological innovations in conjunction with their economic consequences, ethical responsibilities, and societal impacts. Students who successfully complete four elective courses receive a micro-credential certificate documenting their competencies in this field.
2. Micro-Credential Model of the Department of International Trade and Finance (Turkish)
Our department offers a program based on the “Digitalization and Society” model within the framework of micro-credentials recommended by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Digitalization is simultaneously transforming the department’s core areas of study, ranging from economic growth and productivity to international trade processes, financial services, migration, and labor markets. The four selected courses address the economic, technological, ethical, and societal dimensions of this transformation as an integrated and complementary whole.
