Department Activities
Borsa İstanbul (BIST) Trip, organized by the International Trade and Finance Department on 12.12.2018, provided students with the opportunity to see the theoretical information they saw in the course in practice. Thus, students had the opportunity to see one of the institutions that direct the economic practices of the country.
The effects of Covid-19 on globalization were explained in the online conference organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance on 05.11.2020 and where economist Ece Pulaş was a speaker.

On 27.04.2023, by the International Trade and Finance (Tr-Ing) Department, Financial Literacy Panel was organized as online with the participants named Seda Yalçınkaya Özer, Tuncay Turşucu, Serdar Pazı, Dr. İlknur Güner, Ömür Ertiryaki and Haydar Acun.
On 05.10.2023-06.10.2023, the “7th Economics and Finance” Conference organized in cooperation with the University of the West of England Bristol and Azerbaijan State University of Economics was held online and face-to-face.
On 14.12.2023, the panel titled “Turkish Economy from Past to Present on the Basis of the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey” organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance (Tr-Eng) was held online.
On 08.01.2024, a panel on “Digitalization and Sustainability in the Finance World” was held with the moderation of Assoc. Prof. Ebru Gül Yılmaz, faculty member of the Department of International Trade and Finance, and Engin Deniz, TEB Digital Banking Channel Development Manager.
On 22.03.2024, “TEB Foreign Trade Operations Visit” was organized under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Ebru Gül Yılmaz, faculty member of the Department of International Trade and Finance, with the participation of the students of the department.
On 02.09.2024, “Climate Crisis and Economics Panel” was held under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Ebru Gül Yılmaz, faculty member of the Department of International Trade and Finance, with the participation of the students of the department.
On 04.12.2024, a talk titled “Foreign Trade and Banking Operations” was held for the department’s students under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Ebru Gül Yılmaz, with the participation of Nurdan Sönmez, Banking Operations Manager at Turkish Trade Bank, as the guest speaker.
On 08.04.2025, an online event titled “Veblen at a Crossroads: The Financialization of Global Pharmaceutical and Vaccine Production During the Pandemic Period” was organized, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Onur Özdemir, with Assoc. Prof. Ömer Tuğsal Doruk as the guest speaker.
On 13.05.2025, a student-participated visit was carried out to Euro-Asia Company, an external stakeholder of the Department of International Trade and Finance, under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Ebru Gül Yılmaz.
On 30.06.2025, an online talk titled “Foreign Trade Practices” was held, with Dr. Bingül Artan as the guest speaker and Assoc. Prof. Ebru Gül Yılmaz as the moderator.
On 22.10.2025, an online event titled “International Climate Finance within the Framework of Sustainable Economy” was organized, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Onur Özdemir, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Kayhan, a faculty member at Istanbul Medeniyet University, as the guest speaker.
On 04.11.2025, a seminar titled “The Impact of International Banking on Development” will be held, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Gül Yılmaz, with Ateş Şakrak, General Manager of TEB Cetelem A.Ş., participating as the guest speaker.
On 09.12.2025, an event titled “Opportunities and Processes within the Scope of the Erasmus+ Exchange Program”, organized by the Department of International Trade and Finance and moderated by Asst. Prof. Şükran Kahveci, was held with contributions from Ece Nur Yüksel, International Exchange and Cooperation Specialist, and Mussa Sameer Said, one of the department’s alumni, as guest speakers.
On 18.12.2025, the “Scientific Article Writing Techniques Training”, organized in cooperation between the Department of International Trade and Finance and IPUAM, was held with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onur Özdemir as the trainer and Assoc. Prof. Ebru Gül Yılmaz as the moderator.
On 02.01.2026, an online talk titled “Turkey’s Bilateral Trade Dynamics: Evidence from the Structural Gravity Model Approach” was held, with Assoc. Prof. Emrah Eray Akça, a faculty member of the Department of Economics at Bartın University, as the guest speaker, and Asst. Prof. Onur Çelik, a faculty member of the Department of International Trade and Finance, as the moderator.
