The Language, Thought and Literature Society which is established by students of Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Department of Turkish Language and Literature has organized an event for March 8 World Women's Day on 29.03.2018 under the title "Violence Against Women and Works Carried out at Mor Çatı" at Conference Hall of Faculty of Fine Arts. Hazal Günel, a volunteer of Mor Çatı Women's Shelter Foundation participated in the event as a speaker.
 

In her speech, Günel emphasized different aspects of the violence against women, including physical and psychological inequalities in the daily life and professional life, gender roles, sexist rhetoric of violence against women, and the activities organized by the Mor Çatı Women's Shelter Foundation. The speech reflected on the social and psychological causes of violence against women and made those problems more visible, and also focused on how these reasons could be eliminated in order to end the violence.
 

University members and students have listened to the speech with great interest, and they asked questions which helped to bring the event to a common ground. At the end of event, a plate was presented to the speaker.
