Istanbul Gelisim University visited Turkish Exporters Association. The collaborations with universities were discussed.
Istanbul Gelisim University visited Turkish Exporters Association. During the meeting, Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (IDMIB) Chairman Mustafa Şenocak said that the enterprises should employ a certain number of vocational high school graduates.

The meeting was held with Mustafa Şenocak, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDMIB and Süleyman Cakıroglu, the Secretary General of the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association (İHKİB), Education Foundation and the vocational training collaborations were discussed.

Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. İzzet Gümüş, Director of Continuing Education Center Director Assistant Professor Dr. Fatih Fuat Tuncer and IGU Media Coordinator Saygı Ünlü have held the visit where the agenda of business world was evaluated.

“WE HAVE TO WORK WITH THE UNIVERSITIES“

Mustafa Şenocak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IDMIB stated that they had problems in terms of education and the students they needed were not trained. Emphasizing that they attach importance to industry-university cooperation, Şenocak said: “We have to work with universities. We produce good products but we cannot market well. One of our biggest problems is that we cannot find marketing personnel experienced in export.

Senocak said that they also have difficulty in finding the proper intermediate personnel. He added: “Those students are not so much willing to attend these schools. Therefore, they have a low performance. In this regard, the Ministry of National Education and Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters' Association (IDCIB) cooperate in training. Businesses must be obliged to employ a certain number of vocational high school graduates and some vocational high school graduates need to be provided with some advantages. Students can be encouraged to these schools with job guarantee and achievement scholarships.”

“COLLABORATION WITH INDUSTRIALISTS IS VERY IMPORTANT “

Continuing Education Center Director Assistant Professor Dr. Fatih Fuat Tuncer said: “We do our best to contribute the national industry through trainings we provide under university guarantee. We have carried out trainings on Determining the Target Markets in export, Commercial Intelligence and International Marketing, Delivery Forms in Export and Logistics. Istanbul Gelisim University is a higher education institution that has proven its quality of education through accreditation from Europe. We currently have the most accredited programs in Turkey. The quality of education is progressing in line with the university at the IGU Continuing Education Center. Cooperation with industrialists is of great importance to us.”
