United Metal Workers Union was founded in 1949 and it operates as part of Turkey's Revolutionary Workers Unions with its headquarters in Ankara, is active in metalbusinesss and has 8 branches. The Chairman of the Union is Adnan Serdaroğlu and the Secretary General is Özkan Atar.

Özkan ATAR, Secretary General of the United Metal Workers' Unions has attended the Labor Economics course of Dr. Çiğdem Boz and provided information about the appearance of unionization, the trade union movement in Turkey from past to present and also explained the current situation. At the end of the course, Atar answered questions from students. Students who will join the working life after graduation stated that they were glad to learn about the events going on in working life.
