Scientific Research – IGU Department of Psychology (Spring Semester 2025–2026)

1) A study titled “Investigating the Role of Self-Control in the Link Between Intercultural Communication Competence and Mental Well-Being,” published in April 2026 by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aman Sado Elemo, examines the role of self-control in the relationship between intercultural communication competence and psychological well-being, indicating that self-control may serve as a significant explanatory variable in this relationship.

2) A book chapter titled “Social Media and Digital Violence: Relationships from a Gender Perspective,” published by Res. Asst. İrem Uyar in the book Gender and Violence, addresses the reproduction of gender-based violence in digital environments.

3) A study titled “Mnemonic mechanisms of emotion regulation: the role of retrieval perspective in managing anger and shame,” published by Res. Asst. Zehra Nur Kurtoğlu, investigates the role of memory and retrieval perspective in emotion regulation processes.
