The Council also issued a statement expressing their concerns about the pressures on some journalists and media organizations and called for release of all detainees. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres emphasized that it is unacceptable not to recognize and respect the election results. He also stated that detainees should be released and democratic and constitutional order should be established in Myanmar.
