UN chief: 'We cannot defeat a pandemic in an uncoordinated way'

António Guterres -UN Secretary-General- gave an interview on December 16, 2021 by saying that states all around the world should take immadiate action in the short run to vaccinate 40 per cent of the world's population before the end of 2021 and he also stressed that countries are not able to defeat COVID-19 unless they are coordinated.

In an interview with journalists in New York, Guterres called on Member States to be “far more determined” in their struggle with COVID-19 to reach seventy per cent of people all over the World by the middle of 2022, by referring an objective introduced by the World Health Organization (WHO). Guterres also addressed the fact that vaccination inequality makes it easy for variants to threaten people's health and devastate their economies all over the world.
