Composed a New Song! Here are Tunes from Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence technology continues to surprise us more and more every day. This time, artificial intelligence composed a new song inspired by, in other words by learning, the songs it listened to.

Artificial intelligence technology continues to surprise us more and more every day. This time, artificial intelligence composed a new song inspired by, in other words by learning, the songs it listened to.

In the project developed by Over the Bridge, Magenta, Google's artificial intelligence program, gives us the answer of famous rock band Nirvana fans’ question: "What kind of song would Kurt Cobain write if he were alive today?" In the project performed by using computer and artificial intelligence technologies; the artificial intelligence program Magenta, learning their talents from the songs of musicians who lost their lives at a young age (27), such as Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Amy Winehouse, has composed a new song by writing lyrics that are very similar to the styles of these famous artists. Called as Lost Tapes of the 27 Club, the project was developed by Over the Bridge, a Toronto-based organization that aims to support artists struggling with mental illness in the music industry.

In the last song it composed, Magenta listened to nearly 30 Nirvana songs to write a new Nirvana song. It analyzed the vocal melodies, chords, guitar riffs, solos, drum patterns and lyrics of the tracks in detail. It listened to to predict what the band's new compositions would look like. In the song "Drowned in The Sun", which was created by analyzing Cobain's lyrics and guitar playing, everything except the vocals of Nirvana's "tribute" lead vocalist Eric Hogan, comes from Magenta's own hand. It is also quite remarkable that we can feel the breezes of Cobain in the lyrics of the song. Also, before making a Nirvana song, Sony tried to make a new Beatles song with the same program.

With the Lost Tapes of the 27 Club project, Over the Bridge tries to convey the message that musicians who died at a young age due to psychological diseases, could have made these artificial songs in their natural form if they were among us. Even though many people try to turn the deaths of artists who lost their lives at a young age into a phenomenon under the name of "27's Club", the Over the Bridge organization which emphasizes that these traumas can be prevented, aims to inform its audience about the treatment of psychological diseases with artificial songs.

Here are the parts created by Magenta within the framework of its project:
